Apple Exports to Taiwan: Orchard & Bin Sampling Protocols

Training is mandatory for people that do not have a Pest Consultant's license (PCO) or Commercial Applicator's license. Without those licenses people must attend training to perform orchard or field bin sampling. Those who attended training last summer (2008) do not have to attend, but refresher attendance is strongly advised by NHC and USDA/APHIS. It is also advised that anyone with a license but unfamiliar with the Taiwan protocol attend training. Certified cull cutters may perform field bin sampling if informed of bin sampling protocols. Official forms must be used for all phases of the workplan. You can download the forms here.

Sessions are scheduled throughout August. Classes are FREE, but pre-registration is advised due to space limitations. Please send a fax (509) 662-8714, phone (509) 663-8181 or send an email to Wendy Jones, wendyej@wsu.edu prior to your desired session date. For more information call (509) 663-8181 or (509) 679-3867. Please include company or facility name, number of participants, which session you will be attending along with YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION in case of changes. If you need a Spanish translator, contact me at least a week in advance.

Orchard sampling training does not replace cull cutter certification - Re-certification required by WSDA for a minimum of 2 cutters per facility every other year.
