Apple Exports to Taiwan: Orchard & Bin Sampling Protocols
Training is mandatory for people who do not have a Pest Consultant's license (PCO) or Commercial Applicator's license. Those without either license must attend training to perform orchard or field bin sampling. People who attended training last summer (2012) do not need to attend, but refresher attendance is strongly advised by NHC and USDA/APHIS. It is also advised that anyone with a license but unfamiliar with the Taiwan protocol attend training. Certified cull cutters may perform field bin sampling if informed of bin sampling protocols. Official forms must be used for all phases of the workplan. You can download the forms here.
Four (4) sessions are scheduled for August. If you can't make one of these sessions I may be able to accomodate you, but its best to attend one of the scheduled sessions to ensure you recieve training. Classes are FREE, but pre-registration is requested due to space limitations. Please send a fax (509) 662-8714, phone (509) 663-8181 x260 or send an email to Wendy Jones, wendyej@wsu.edu prior to your desired session date. For more information call (509) 663-8181 x260 or (509) 679-3867. Please include company or facility name, number of participants, which session you will be attending along with YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION in case of session changes. If you need a Spanish translator, contact me at least 2 weeks in advance. (I may not be able to locate a suitable translator this year. So if you have a person with your facility that can help, please let me know.)
